- Strong edge presence in secondary and emerging markets where larger networks lean on transit, with competitive latency in Eastern Europe.

Worth considering: a smaller overall footprint and market mindshare than CloudFront, and pricing that can be contract-heavy and less transparent than a public calculator.
The pricing reality
If your origin is in AWS, CloudFront's free origin egress and integrated billing can make its effective cost lower than the sticker rate suggests — the ecosystem is the discount. If your origin is not in AWS, that advantage evaporates and Gcore's lower per-GB rates and predictable commits often win at moderate volumes. The AI-inference angle is not a line item you can compare on price at all: if you need models served at the edge, Gcore bundles it and CloudFront does not, which changes the question from “cheaper CDN” to “right platform.”
How to decide
Follow your origin and your workload. All-in on AWS with a conventional delivery need? CloudFront is the natural, well-integrated choice and fighting it rarely pays. Building AI features that need inference near users, or serving audiences in markets the giants under-serve? Gcore is purpose-built for that and CloudFront is not. The trap is choosing CloudFront by default when your stack is not actually AWS-centric — you inherit the lock-in without the free-egress benefit that justifies it.
The honest verdict
CloudFront wins on ecosystem depth and network breadth for AWS-native teams; Gcore wins for edge-AI and streaming workloads and for latency in under-served regions. Neither is the universal “best CDN.” The right answer is dictated by where your origin lives and whether edge inference is part of your roadmap — pick the platform your workload wants to live in, then negotiate the rate.
Choose CloudFront if: your stack is AWS-native, you value one integrated bill and identity model, and free egress from AWS origins applies to you. Choose Gcore if: you need edge AI inference or streaming, want predictable pricing at moderate volume, or serve regions the hyperscalers reach only via transit.
